Dr. Yasin Mamatjan
In the last 7 years, he has:
authored 34 journal publications, and over 82 conference posters/papers (16 as the first or co-first author), while I was the contributor for methylation analysis in 6 Nature papers.
developed ~20 ML models and genomics pipeline for clinical research laboratories.
trained three BSc students and obtained five grants in 2022 alone in the field of cancer classification and recommender systems for brain stroke risk and heart attack risk stratification.
contributed to equity, diversity, and inclusion by employing underrepresented students and engaging in high school outreach activities.
supported University Health Network (UHN) in maintaining and fostering a culture of research excellence and continue to collaborate with them.
developed predictor of meningioma recurrence used in the hospital for clinical test and published in Neuro-Oncology in 2019, which also led to a conference award and a “Moonshot Grant” from the US.
obtained research experiences at Philips Research Lab in Germany, Translational Genomics Laboratory (TGL) at OICR and Advanced Genomics Lab in UHN.
established collaborations with 20 research groups in five countries.

Dr. Murat Orhun
He received his BSc in electrical engineering from Xinjiang University in Urumqi, followed by an MS in computer science from Yildiz Technical University and a Ph.D. from Istanbul Technical University.
Since 2006, he has been a member of the computer engineering department at Istanbul Bilgi University.
In addition to his professional work, Murat is an expert in the field of Natural Language Processing, Machine Translation, Optimization, Machine Learning, and Data Science.
He is currently focusing his research on developing an NLP framework for Uyghur, Uzbek, and Turkish languages.
Dr. Dilbar Salman obtained her Master's degree and Ph.D. from Saitama University in Japan.
